"What looks like a drop of good in a bucket of evil will somehow endure to the end, not unremembered by a God who sees all things", Melba Maggay

It is devastating when we come to understand intimately the pain and suffering of people; and it’s devastating when we come to grips with our world’s indifference to it. But God has given us the opportunity to show His character and His power. The kingdom of God has broken in, through Jesus.

Become a JUBILEE CONGREGATION – your church can become part of the Jubilee family and join us in digging to the roots of poverty.

Jubilee Australia draws its inspiration from the Biblical tradition of a Jubilee Year, when those enslaved because of debts are freed, lands lost because of debt are returned, and community torn by inequality is restored (see Leviticus 25:10, Deuteronomy 15, Isaiah 61, Luke 4:18-19). This moral principle has important relevance in our world today. Debt should not be allowed to cascade down the generations, consigning people to ever deepening misery and despair, and debt repayment should never cost people the essentials of life.

 2008 Action for Global Justice

Thank you to the many social justice groups, churches and individuals around Australia who sent back their signed inflatable globes to be part of the Week of Global Action Against Debt. On Monday 13 October, as part of Micah Challenge Voices for Justice, the globes were presented along with handwritten letters to members of the government and opposition. The colourful rally on the front lawn of Parliament House sent a message to our elected representatives inside — we care about Global Justice.
