THIRTEEN YEARS AND STILL NO CROP? (2026)
Ongoing abuses of the Forest Clearing Authority logging permit are revealed in this update report on the Wammy Rural Development Project in West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea.
Our new analysis reveals logging operations have continued, albeit on a smaller scale and in widely spread locations within the concession area.
There is evidence of continued selective logging in two locations over a total area of about 30 square kilometres (3,000 hectares) and logging along a roadline which has since been abandoned. This logging would all seem to be in clear breach of Forestry Act requirements for an FCA.
